John Klimm's "Water"-loo

Seems odd, doesn't it?

The Town Council couldn't just fire John Klimm. They had to "offer" him a contract buy-out, which the strong-man is only now considering.

Make no mistake about this, the entire show on Thursday was prearranged. The radio stations were talking about the buy-out "offer" hours before the executive session which produced it. Klimm spent the day inviting reporters to the evening event. And, he arrived with a prepared statement which was distributed at an "impromptu" meeting in his office following the "decision." So much for representative democracy in action.

True, what we have here is a representation of something. I'm just not sure that it is democracy.

What I saw reminded me of a palace coup d'etat. Here, the betrayers were the two no-shows who feigned "commitments" which outweighed their responsibilities to their constituents and the "good of the town."

I would have preferred a change in the charter to a stab in the back, but the result is the same.

Barnstable now faces the very difficult challenge of leaving the economic fairy land of the Klimm-era. Growth is good, if it is built on a sustainable foundation. Double digit unemployment, record level foreclosures, and a collapse of the long sought year round economy isn't that. Sure, downtown looks great, but how healthy is the community which surrounds it?

In the back of his mind, I think John was hoping for an outpouring of popular support, or even a petition drive to overturn the Council's decision. But, in the end, John lost popular support. Only a handful of aging and retired councilors came to speak on his behalf. The rest of us have long since been driven from his "fiefdom.'

John Klimm should have had the courage and personal integrity to run for mayor years ago. Instead, he's expected to be run out of town.

So, we have a change, at last. Only the direction remains uncertain.

John Klimm bullied residents of the town of barnstable. He forced residents to sewer their homes , when there was no need for them to sewer. He bought land and turned thousands of acres into conservation land, losing valuable and much needed tax dollars. He bough a water company, and the poorest residents in town (Hyannis) will be stuck with the multi-million dollar payment. John Klimm played the game of politics while managering barnstable he hurt many residents in this town with his poilitical games. The same game of politics came back and bit John Klimm in the ASS, now he knows how those barnstable residents feel because now he is a  victim of the Political Game.

What if Klimm set up or facilitated the absence of Tinsley and Joakim? Bill Delahunt just opened a Hyannis office of his consultancy\lobbying\ general hijinx firm. Could he have been in the market for a state\regional\local rainmaker? The only thing better than going to a cushy new job is doing it with a $250k payout in your pocket. A crazy speculation, but the image of Klimm as a blindsided and hapless victim just doesn't seem plausible. He always has landed on his feet in the past.

This is entirely plausible scenario. The opening of the Delhunt office coincided with this annoucement:

Fay, Spofford & Thorndike opened an office here to "fix" our failed septics. The only problem with this idea is that Ciolek "flipped" in Chatham. Bob now advovating for decentralized systems and Ciolek had won Paul N's support.

The battle of the titan's continues....

Hey, maybe Klimm thinks this is over. Let him think again. I STILL THINK that there was corruption with the water company purchase and I fully intend to yet AGAIN, ROT THE UMPTEENTH TIME, ask the MASS Inspector General's Office to come and FINALLY FULLY INVESTIGATE THAT DAMN FILTHY WATER COMPANY DEAL! Was there corruption? Let them investigate! Was someone or more than one person paid off? Let them figure this shit out but one thing is for damn SURE! Klimm never had a right TO DEAL SECRETLY WITH MILLIONS OF BARNSTABLE TAXPAYER DOLLARS! He also NEVER HAD THE RIGHT TO STEAL THE 109 ACRES OF BARLACO LAND FROM THE HYANNIS WATER RATE PAYERS! And thus we have, in my opinion, drinking the poison water BECAUSE OF KLIMM AND THE !# ASSHOLES who call themselves town councillors!

it ain't over, trust me!

And congratulations should go personally to GARY LOPEZ who did a fabulous job over the years watching Klimm the major league LIAR< CHEATER AND LOSER!

Good day to all, and remember that old saying, All good things must come to an end.

No, no, in this case, it is ALL BAD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END, and here, it finally did! Now let's get rid of the 13 assholes on the council! Look for my letter next week. It will hit these asses right between their eyes!

I cannot explain the absense of Jim Tinsley but Janet Joakim left The Cape at 12:30pm Thursday to have a medical proceedure done in Boston. She did not make it back to The Cape until well after 9pm. Everyone on the pro-Klimm side of the dias expected both to Joakim and Tinsley to make the meeting. Tinsley has missed more meetings then he has attended in the last 2 months but this miss is simply unforgivable.

I didn't know that they still did lobotamies in Boston.

It should be interesting to see, if history remembers Gary Lopez. Barnstable will remember John Klimm.

John Klimm said on the radio this morning, he has a chance to get a teacher`s job. He did not say school, or college.
This will give John the years he needs to retire with a municipal, or state pension and health care benefits!

The Delahunt group and the Fay, Spofford office appear to be in the same smallish building near Park Square.

They are joined at the hip. The only question in my mind is how much will their presence in town cost us and will Klimm be part of the shake down? There is a quantum shift occurring on a regional level. Ongoing siting problems with larger treatment facilities and ta public preference for cheaper alternatives will force the Big Three sewer consultancies off-Cape. Has Delhunt read this trend...

It will be easier for Klimm distance himself form his failed $678 million dollar plan to sewer Barnstable as a consultant. Who knows, maybe Klimm will even go on record supporting a well replacement plan for Hyannis, now that our wells are failing and water restrictions are being considered.

Did you see the editorial the in CCTimes today?

This was not a coincidence. Big Pipe has failed and Big Boyz are positioning themselves for a market shift. <span>Has Delhunt read this trend? What will happen when he starts calling in markers?

Who knows, maybe Klimm will even go on record supporting a well replacement plan for Hyannis, now that our wells are failing, water restrictions are being considered, and he is in a position to profit from the recommendation.

It sounds like the old-boy network in Barnstable Town Hall is dismantling after years of pressure. John Julius has it right with questioning the status quo, and the fiscal messes that lead up to such disasters. I've never seen so many idiots get away with blatant corruption.

Between Grissom and Klimm, if anything, your dreams of a new Barnstable seem to be looming on the horizon.
